APC's Metered by Outlet with Switching Power Distribution Units (PDUs) provides advanced, user-customizable power regulation and per-outlet power metering. In order to prevent illegal usage of certain outlets and enable power on/off capabilities for power recycling to restart locked-up equipment, remote outlet level controls are used. Using power sequencing delays, users can choose the order in which equipment is turned on or off.

By giving load shedding priority, you can prevent circuit overload during power recovery and increase the uptime of crucial equipment. Remote real-time monitoring of connected loads is made possible via current metering. Real power monitoring, a temperature/humidity sensor port, and locking IEC outlets are all features of switched rack PDUs. Before serious IT failures happen, user-defined alerts forewarn potential circuit overloads. Through secure Web, SNMP, or Telnet interfaces, users can access, configure, and control switched rack PDUs. APC Centralized Management systems that use InfraStruxure Central, Capacity Manager and Change Manager work with these interfaces to make them even better.
